Client Testimonials
Stephan Lamb Associates gets the majority of our business through word-of-mouth recommendations. Here are some unsolicited comments from our clients.

"Steve Lamb and his associates really can make your model railroad dreams come true. They did it for me with an unbelievably wonderful 57 sq. ft. Z scale railroad. You can almost think you are part of the layout, it is that realistic." (Railroad completed May 2004)

Robert C. - Massachusetts

"I met Steve about three years ago. I have a very large O scale layout with many unresolved problems. Steve diagnosed each issue showing patience and knowledge. Steve's skills and knowledge becoming more evident with every correction made. Presently most systems are up and running with a few more details to resolve. I highly recommend Steve to handle any railroading needs you might have." (Currently still in progress)

Al B. - Warwick RI

"Steve and his talented crew did a fantastic job of designing my 250 square foot Truckee-Lake Tahoe layout in Marklin C-Track, and then installing it in my California train room. From track plans, construction, scenery, cameras, dioramas, operation, to service after installation; I've been very happy and only wish I had a bigger room for him to build me more!" (Railroad completed May 2009)

Orv M. - Montecito CA

"As for my G overhead layout, everyone that has seen it thinks it's unbelievable and have told me I did a great job putting it up and how long it took me to do it? As much as I wanted to tell them thanks, I told them it was my Idea but I didn't build it. I have a friend in "TRAINS ON TRACKS" store who sells all gauges HO O & G I do business with who told me about Steve Lamb & Associates when I told him that I was thinking of a G layout over my existing layout (my condo assoc. wouldn't allow it) He recommended Steve. They did a great job I haven't had any problems I enjoy them very much." (Overhead Railroad completed March 2007)

John C. - New Hampshire

"It's been great working with Steve Lamb and his team on my outdoor garden railroad and on my indoor garage Lionel train layout. The guys are creative, skilled, helpful and as crazy about trains as I am! Even when I don't know the right questions to ask to solve my problems, they still come up with the right answers. And my trains now run better than the Long Island Railroad which is just down the road." (Garden Railroad completed July 2007)

Steve S. - Queens NY

"I am a serious Model N Scaler ( 20 years) who has found the need to use Stephan and his team to help get me through difficult and at times frustrating situations on my layout. Stephan and his team have a "Can Do Attitude" with a very positive and high energy level. No matter what my needs were, Stephan was always there and he treated my layout as if it was his own - which was important to me. He and his team"s craftsmanship, technical abilities and layout visualization rate the highest grades I can give them." (Currently still in progress)

"Having a layout done by Steve Lamb is like owning a Picasso, only you get to use it not just look at it. I recommend Steve absolutely. Anyone that gets a layout done by Steve and his crew, like me will only rave about how much fun model trains can be. Steve is the best." (Railroad completed June 2007)

Robert S. - Cape Cod

"Stephan and all his crew members have been very easy to work with. At the outset, he listened to my vision and objectives for the layout and created a track plan that more than met my needs and expectations. He worked with me to keep within my budget range. I have recommended Stephan to others and he continues to provide advice and input to me as I tackle completing the layout." (Railroad completed January 2010)

"I had decided I needed a new hobby now that I'm in my 70's and long since retired. I have always enjoyed working with my hands and recalled how much I enjoyed model railroading from my childhood when I was given a Lionel "Choo Choo Train".

I thought why not...so I bought magazines, visited some hobby shops and spoke to some model railroaders. I decided upon HO scale and designed and built a 22' by 12' table upon which to build my model. I did this in my summer home in Maine where we spend about four months each year out of Florida.

While I had some thoughts I decided to seek some professional advice about layout design and help in construction. After searching the web and interviewing a number of companies I decided to work with Steve Lamb Associates. This relationship is now into three years and continues.

As I mentioned I enjoy building things and Steve and his staff have been great at helping me on this project which I hope will never be completely finished. They have done things for which I have had no knowledge or prior experience and in the process I have learned a lot about building scenery, DCC operating systems, track installation and wiring and hundreds of 'tricks of the trade'. We often work side by side, and they are smart enough to know when I want help or wish to do be left on my own.

What has been to date is significant: We are able through DCC to control and operate as many as four trains at one time. There are a large number of topographic features: including a mountain, a small harbor, tunnels, bridges and the like so that the entire layout is beginning to look quite good. This would not have happened without the advice, counsel, and the physical input of Steve and his staff." (Currently still in progress)
